Violinist/Violist Wanlin Cui, born in Harbin, China, is the violist of the Dallas Candlelight Concert series. She is pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of North Texas, where she is a teaching fellow. She began her violin studies at age 9, and first attended the Renmin University of China to pursue her Bachelor degree in Violin performance from 2012-2016. Afterwards, Mrs. Cui switched from violin to viola, and was admitted to the University of North Texas Masters degree in Violin/Viola performance with a Graduate Scholarship. As an orchestral player, she serves as section violinist/violist in the Fort Smith Symphony, Abilene Philharmonic, Richardson Symphony, and as a Baroque violist in the Dallas Bach Society. She has also participated in the Eastern Music Festival with an orchestral fellowship in 2018.

Besides performing, she is also an active violin/viola teacher in the Frisco and Plano ISD. Her students have won positions at the All-Region competitions and with the GDYO orchestras.
